SCANNING SERVICE

• We can scan your pictures at .300 dpi which is suitable for prints.
• Thay can be converted to a  smaller size for emailing to others.
• You will be able to share them easily
  by email,  on a duplicate CD, or by having new prints made from your new digital files.
• Each member of the family can have a copy of all of the photos.
• Slides and negatives can be scanned too.

ESTATE PAPERS and PHOTOGRAPHS

• When that sad day comes and Mom & Dad's photograph collection needs to be sorted and divided, why not consider an alternative method of dealing with the situation?
• The services we offer will allow each member of the family to have a copy of ALL of the pictures.
• Pictures can be scanned and preserved on a CD-ROM.  
• Once done, duplicate copies of the CD can easily be made, either by you or by us for a small fee.  Photo prints can be ordered at many online services as well as local stores and drug store chains.
• Each member of the family  will be able to have a copy of every  photograph.
• The same method can be used to preserve family papers, letters, souvenirs and other paper keepsakes.
  
• Duplicate CDs stored in many different locations increases the chances for survival through the coming years.

RESTORATION

• Restoration
  We can bring back some color, fix colors that have changed over time, refresh your old photographs, and do some repair work, but there are some things that just cannot be done.  
  Many of the old photographs were not very sharp to begin with.
• If a repair is more complex than what we are able to do, we will not hesitate to tell you that.
• Since we are working on copies, your original photograph is not harmed in any way.
• We can remove printed dates in most cases.  Though those dates can often come in handy to remind us of when a particular event took place, they can also be distracting when viewing the photo.  Most times we can easily take them out.  
  If you are using a digital camera, there's no need to have the date feature turned on.  The date is already included inside the file - as long as you have it set on your camera.
• Though we can fill in backgrounds and remove some torn areas, as much as we'd like to do so, we cannot restore a face that is not there!

Once your pictures have been scanned and converted to digital format, you can select from many different presentation formats.  If you already have digital files, you can skip the scanning step and move right on to how you want to view and share them.

PRESENTATION FORMATS

AN AUTO-RUN CD Project for your Computer

• Working together, we can put your pictures, stories, souvinirs, short videos and more into one project that will run automatically when inserted into a Windows computer. The project can include face labels that will show up when the mouse is moved over the faces.  You will be able to zoom in and see items close up.  You can even add voice narration to your pictures and stories.

• For these custom presentations we use a very versatile computer software program called Passage Express.  If you are interested in learning more about the Passage Express program for your own use, you can learn more and download a trial version

DVD SLIDE SHOW

• A Customized Slide Show of your pictures can be created that will play on your DVD player and Television.
• The show can be set to music.

PRINTED BOOKS

Sometimes you just want to tell the story and see the pictures in the old familiar way.  HeritageMakers is a way to do just that.  The system is extremely flexible, with help all along the way.  It's a great way for you to be creative with your new digital files, 
or, we can do it for you if you'd prefer that method.

FLIP ALBUM for your Computer

Your pictures can also be put into a Flip Album for viewing on a computer.  This format appears to have pages that turn but it is viewed on the computer screen.
Individual pages can be printed too.

Another option is to have the Flip Album made use it as just one part of the auto-run CD project.

• File names that make sense!  
  Digital cameras are great, but the file names can be hard to sift through.  
  Give us the details and we'll use them in the file title.
  It's nice when you need to find a particular picture. t
• We will work carefully with your valued photos - even if they've been PASTED into an old book, or STUCK TIGHT to the  magnetic backing in an older album
